I need to reline an old marble baptismal font (basically a big marble bowl) as the marble is discolored and looks dirty.  Is there something I can paint it with that is waterproof or at least water-friendly, and can be cleaned easily?

Or, is there a way to really clean the marble and make it look nice again?

Thank you!

You can also use PVA discs. If it is etched just get through the etched part before bringing it back up to a shine. They go on a high speed grinder and you can run them dry.

Glad to be of service,
