3 weeks ago I had Golden Spectrus installed in my kitchen.  I love it, but yesterday I noticed a crack in the corner of the sink where the soap dispenser was installed.  The crack runs all the way from the sink through the soap dispenser back to the wall.  Six inches over all.
I need to know is this normal?  My installer said maybe I put the soap dispenser on too tightly or he thought we could have stepped on that area.  Neither is true.   How should it be fixed?  It is my first experience having granite and I don't want to believe what he tells me I need to know what is right.

Are you still in the same situation? What did the contractor say about this problem?

Most of those situations can be repaired quite easily.  Here is where the super penetrating and surface polishing can bring the material back to the structural integrity that you started with.  It can also look like it was never a problem.

If the shop that you had do your kitchen is a reputable one, I'm confident that you can be satisfied.

Just in case there are those who continue looking.  I found this on another forum.  This was number 7 on his list of 10 reasons why granite:

"7. Repairable
There’s the other reason why the stone’s so popular, that is it’s repairable when it was damaged."
