When you are surface polishing do you need to use a lot of pressure to get the shine back?  I am always burning a grinder up when I flat polish and the boss is gonna kill me.  I do always get the shine back though.

it depends on what youre using for final polish. tell me what your using IE, hogs hair pads, diamond buff pad, cloth pad etc. polishing powder? granite or marble. i can probably tell you exactly why youre burning them up. what machine are you using? everything in the equation comes into play, so list the whole setup and i'll tell you how to not burn up your grinders. ive had the same two makitas running for two years no problem, and i use my entire body weight when polishing granite seams. YES you do need a lot of pressure to get the best results with granite, but it depends what you do it with.
