Hi -

I was hoping you could help me. We live in a new construction home and we upgraded our kitchen countertops to granite. We've had a few issues with it and they've come out to "re-align" the coutner tops twice. Now - about 9 months after the last alignment - we've noticed that there is some discoloration forming at one of the seams. This seam is directly over the dishwasher where there doesn't seem to be any support for the countertop.

Here are my questions: Is it appropriate installation to put the seam where the two granite pieces meet directly over the dishwasher? Could the fact the seam is directly over the dishwasher be causing the discoloration? Could I run into problems in the future as a result of the seam being directly over the dishwasher? Not sure if it matters - but with two small children we run the dishwasher at least every other day.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Let me know if I can provide any additional information.

Thanks,

- Rob
