It depends on where you are...it varies from area to area.
Here is Phoenix the techs get anywhere from $10.00 - $25.00 per hour. Depends on their skills, and if they are documented.

Undocumented employees = illegal aliens

Are you an illegal alien?

Here in phoenix this is about the average:
helpers usually start at $7-$10 per hour
Installers (Qualified) usually $15-$25 if paid by the hour
polishers between $7-$15
Fabricators $12-18
master fabricators $15-$25
Now this is just what I've seen, of course it is different everywhere you go, and it depends completely on your skill level and knowledge.

In this economy ypu can almost get away with anything legal. But when the economy turns around, make sure you reflect the turn around by upping the pay of a good employee or you won't have him for long!

Well I only hire the best fabricaters and installers, the industry relys  to much on cnc and I believe your quality of work and customer relations is in there hands, so I pay those men 18 to 25 an hour, happy guys means good work and if I have to go without so be it.The real guys are hard to come by.I started in this buis 7 years ago doing everything by hand and I always work side by side with my guys getting fithy and showing them all the (trick of the trade) to help them no mistakes means more cheez for everyone = happy boss
