Polishing Engineered Stone

I'm having some problems polishing engineered stone (silestone to be specific).  I'm using the same dry polishing disks I used to polish granite but I seem to end up with a film on the suface.  Should I be using wet polishing?  I am running my grinder at the lowest speed possible.

You cannot correctly dry polish engineered stone. Since it is made of 93% quartz and 7% resin dry polishing it will burn or score the resin, resulting in films, darker coloration, etc..
Wet polish it and you will get the shine you want without the film.
