I am new to the granite fabricator, I want to know what's easy to do the template?  And after tearing out the old counter top, if the cabinet isn't level, what should I do with it?  Thanks your answer.

the fact that it is out of level should be dealt with either by fixing the cabinet situation or using shims underneat the granite to compensate. if you compensate at the time of installation, just make sure your edge detail will cover the subtop.

we still do templating the old way. we buy door skins from home depot and cut them up into 2 inch strips on a table saw. we then make our templates out of those and use a staple gun and silicone to hold it together.

A lot of the companies I deal with use corplast for making their templates. It is just what it sounds like - corrugated plastic. You can easily mark it, cut it with a razor blade, roll it up and throw an elastic band around it. When you get back to your shop it will be the same size as when you made it. We don't sell it but that is one of the more favorable solutions of my customers.

Glad to be of service,

corrugated plastic is the best way all you need is a razor blade and a hot glue gun this material is nice because you can fold it up for easy travel and you can get it wet in the shop and it will stay the same as the day you templated it and it is easily found in most stone suppiers catalog.

We sell a bundle of the wood sticks for $18. I don't know what the corrugated plastic costs.
