Hi!

I am installing an over the range micro/hood in a condo that we just purchased.  The wall is entirely covered with a 1/2" slab of granite.  I'm wondering the best way to create the 3/16" holes in that granite so that I can get this bugger mounted to the wall.  Best bit, drill, etc advice would be greatly appreciated!

You can use a carbide tipped masonry bit, a brazed diamond drill bit or a wet diamond core bit.
Will the holes be visible once your item is mounter or will they be covered by a flange? If they are visible I would use the diamond bits as they cut circles instead of ovals. The carbide bits are very slow, but if you are doing 4 holes one time only I would opt for a $3 bit instead of a $50 bit.

Glad to be of service,
Mark
