Hubby's installing the granite in our kitchen and bathroom sinks.  He already cut the granite but the edges are not smooth.  Can you advice us what to do to make is smooth like the rest of the slab?  Also,  is it possible to drill holes in the granite for the faucet?  How and what tools can we use?  Thanks in advance to anyone that can help us.

You need to polish the granite. Can you tell me the type of granite so I can make a recommendation on the pads? For most granite this set works we. It is dry and can be run up to 4500rpm:

This will drill your spigot holes:

Glad to be of service,

you have to polish the edges. use wet for best outcome but if not possible it can be done dry. you need a variable speed grinder ,backer pad ,and diamond polishing pads.  use a 50 grit, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, 4000. do 15 passes with each pad. applying steady pressure at all times. if you are polishing dry keep a spray bottle of water and a wet rag close. keep the stone cool as you polish so you dont burn it, if burnt you will have an awful haze that will stand out. since you are inexperienced i recomend breaking the edge with a pencil round usinfg the 800 pad and up.
