Are we talking about chips into the stone or cracks through it? If it is through the stone you need to use an impregnating epoxy to seal the crack and make the stone solid. This will prevent the crack from spreading out also. See this link:
http://www.defusco.com/stoneweld-crack-filler-epoxy-24oz-p-1982.htmlIf it is chips on the top you can do a fill with glue, either epoxy, poly resin or acrylic mastic. See :

See:
http://www.defusco.com/6pc-tenax-poly-color-kit-p-1439.htmlIf the cracks or chips are spiderwebbing on the top of the stone try Pectro:
http://www.defusco.com/tenax-pectro-clear-stone-treatment-liter-p-2477.htmlhttp://www.defusco.com/tenax-pectro-black-stone-treatment-liter-p-2303.htmlLight for light stone, black for dark stone. Pectro Clear was developed to hide microfissures, ”Spiderwebs” and natural defects in granite and other natural stone.
Apply with cloth and after a few minutes buff off with extra fine steel wool to get a professional result. This is more of a stain than a liquid wax. It can be used to give a high gloss to your stone countertops as well as treating the spiderwebs and microfissures to make them invisible.
You should send me some pics and get a little more specific so I can guide you through this repair.
