light beige travertine floor bought with home. spends alot of money having it cleaned and honed every 2 years or so. his wife is sick of it.  would anyone know process of putting tile over it?  can it be done??    thanks again

it would be better to remove it and start with a fresh substrate. If these are tiles you can most likely get the installer to remove it for a free.
