How do you cut a hole for a standard top mounted kitchen sink? Each corner has a radius of about 1-1/2". What tools do I use and what procedure works best to do this.

Also, would it be alright to put the blade on backwards and cut forward? Is there some reason this can not be done? Appreciate the help.

Do you have a grinder? What size is it - 4 1/2", 5" or bigger?

Drop in sinks are easy. Just make your drop-dead line with a grease pencil or a china marker:

The drop-dead line is the line you cannot go past in your cut.

Then take a stone blade and cut just inside your line. I recommend one of the following:

These will dry cut the granite fast and easy.

Drop in sinks are easy - nothing to polish. You just have to make sure the hole is big enough to accept the sink and small enough for the sink flange to cover the hole. Adhere the sink to the granite with 100% silicone.

Glad to be of service,
Mark
