I got everything smoothed out but my stains is still grey- not black as the rest of the material, any suggestions?

You treated the stone with an alkaline solution to remove the stains and it didn't?
Did you then repolish it with Diaglo and reseal it with Hydrex? That was quick.
If that isn't what you did would you tell me what you DID do?

You should still be able to remove the stains with the alkaline solution. If that didn't work satisfactory then before you seal it put on some Pectro Black. This is a stain. Let it dry to a haze then buff it out with extra fine steel wool. Then seal with Hydrex. I am putting in 2 links here:
