Remove them by polishing them out. If they are on the top surface this is a HORRIBLE idea! Even if you were successful you would alter the top plane and change the reflection of the stone (think funhouse effect) and you would hate it. Better to either hide them or hide them & fill them. If it was on a backsplash I would be fine with just hiding it, but if the scratches are located in a usage area you should hide the scratches and then fill them.

If you just want to hide them, you can do this with a toothpick and Ager by Tenax. Here is the link:

Simply take a toothpick and dip it in the Ager. Carefully run it into the scratches and they will darken up to match the rest of the granite top. Buff off the excess with a clean rag and Voila - you have made the scratches invisible!

If you want to hide & fill them, use the Ager as described above, and since it is a resin based product, use a knife grade polyester resin to fill the scratches. You can color the glue or just leave it clear as the color of the scratch has now been enhanced to match the rest of the stone surface.
For this procedure you will need knife grade polyester resin. See this link:

Take some masking tape and mask off to within 1/8" on either side of the scratch. Mix the glue on a piece of cardboard. Use a razor blade to trowel it over the scratch and wait about ten minutes for it to harden. Once it has hardened, remove the masking tape and use some single edge razor blades (see link) to scrape it down to the same plane as the granite top. You can then adjust the gloss level of the glue by buffing it with steel wool. If the shine is more than your countertop, buff with coarse steel wool. If the shine is less than your countertop, buff with extra fine steel wool. Cleanup is simple, just use a clean rag with some denatured alcohol on it.
Here are the razor blades:

Now you have made the top look right again & you will feel like a champ!

Glad to be of service,
Mark
