After making a cut, I ended up with a noticeable size chip in the edge of the piece.  Unfornately, this will be on the front edge rather than against the wall.  I haven't decided on the profile edge but would applying a bullnose give a new, uniform edge?  I have my doubts that it would.

I've heard of a repair method for chips.  How is it done?

If the bullnose will go past the chip then just proceed with the edge detail. If it will not you can glue the chip back with epoxy. If you do not have the chip you can fill the hole with epoxy. After the repair or fill wait 24 hours to begin your edge detail.
If you have questions call me at 800-289-6834.
