I had granite countertops installed 5 years ago, now I have a crack and a break near the cooktop. This is where the granite is at its weakest. The installer no longer operates around here, so I want to repair this myself using granite epoxy and shims etc. Can you recommend the best granite epoxy for the job? Thanks in advance.

Is this a clean break or is it a hairline crack?
If it is a hairline and the top on both sides of it are flush and level with each other you should repair it structurally with a penetrating epoxy, then top fill with a poly resin colored to match the stone.
If it is a clean break you should use a knie grade epoxy to repair it.
Can you give more info and possibly post up a picture?
