My home burnt and some of the furniture was able to be salvaged.  The marble top tables are from the 1880s to about the 1900S.  The restoration company said I would have to have the tops replaced, but that will reduce the value tremendously. Could you help me find a way to restore the old marble that has smoke damage to it?  The restoration company cleaned it but it is still yellow.  I am looking for any help that anyone could give me to try to clean the pieces.  The pieces are smoke damaged but there is no flame damage.  Would the intense heat have caused some of the damage?

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Heat will not affect marble ( it will affect granite), The smoke could have caused etching and should be superficial. you should be able to have these pieces repolished to get back to the original color.
