Huh

I have just bought an Italian flaming tool, that flames 4 inches at a pass.  I am following the Mfg. directions, but every piece of 3 cm Dakota granite I flame cracks during the process.  The granite measures approximately 20" X 16" and I set them on two 2 X 4 pieaces of wood.

How can I flame 3 cm granite without cracking it?

The problem with that granite is the crystals inside are exploding with the heat. You would have to create less heat. Try to move the flame further from the granite. The whole idea of flaming granite is to break the crystals in the surface to give it a rough finish.

Try less time on the slab and a little farther away, but I am no expert on flaming granite.
