Hello,

I'm new to this board and wanted some advice.  I just had new counters installed (Verde Fantastico Granite).  We had a dupont edge made.  First issue was the edge.  It is not smooth and had small bumps across it... the fabricator told me that it's typical when you are using the edge bit - if you hit a vein it would create this uneven edge..(although I see it in areas not veined).  Second issue that I just noticed is that in areas they re-polished, I see a small "dent" about the size of a golf ball.. also, the polish is not clean (meaning you can see swirls on the surface, like if you didn't clean it properly).  My question is.. I am being picky or does it seem like my fabricator didn't do a good job?  I have seen similar stones and edges in showrooms and they look perfect.

Thanks

Far be it from me to criticize a professional fabricator on this, but I am of the opinion that since a granite countertop are a luxury, they should be luxurious!

It is very difficult for me to judge this without seeing it. It could be a bad piece of stone, a bad fabrication job, or a combination of both. Is it possible for you to post pictures of the problem areas? I am having a hard time grasping a "dent about the size of a golfball" - thats a pretty deep dent!

Is it possible for you to get me the name and location of the contractor on this?

Thanks Mark.. I have the same thoughts as you.. I will attempt to post some photos soon... know that the golf ball size dent is hard to detect unless you look at counter from an angle in natural light.. (ie. it's not very deep).  You can also see a retangular shape faintly (which I think is the imprint of the polisher?)

As for giving you the contractor info.. would rather wait until I am certain they didn't provide the service they should have.

Tks,
C
