Hello! I am a first time user, and am looking for a quick answer to probably a basic question.  I am looking at buying a used granite countertop.  however, one of the corners is broken off, a triangle about 3 inches on each side is missing.  My question is this:  As a basic do-it-yourselfer, how difficult would it be to round out the corner, buff it, etc, so that it looks good?  I am going to do the other corner as well so that they match.  Is this something I can tackle myself?  If so, what are the most basic of tools I will need?

Thanks in Advance!

What would the shape be? Is it a half circle (aka full bullnose)? If this is the case your best bet would be to router it and then polish it.
In order to make recommendations I need more info. Can you tell me what the thickness is?
Is it laminated?
Do you have enough room to do this or wil the cabinet show?
Do you have a variable speed grinder?

You can probably grind the rough shape then use a router bit on you grinder to get the right shape and the polish it with dry polishing pads on your variable speed grinder.

Glad to be of service,
Mark

Well, the counter is 2" thick, and it would be a half bull nose I guess, the shape of a quarter circle.  It is laminated, so I am looked at cutting, polishing, and then laminating the corner so it looks intentional.  It is freestanding right now, as it is for a remodel, so I can work from any angle.
