Hi there,
I hope you can help me in this endeavor, I'm an artist looking to attach steel, copper, and brass to polished granite slabs. I figure I'm going to have to rough up the surface of the stone and was curious what tools and abrasives I would need for this and what type of adhesive would join the metals and stone?
The art pieces are going to be wall hangings, so everything must stick well enough to hold vertically.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, Maxwell...

Maxwell,
For a permanent bond use Epoxy - it will be there forever!
Look here:

I would recommend a knife grade to start as they are easier to work with. For roughing up the stone, there are many things you can use - maybe diamond sandpaper?
