I recently pruchased a house that has an existing granite tile backsplash. I want to install a rail system for holding utensils. What is the best way to attach this? Epoxy? Drilling? Thanks

What is behind the tiles (the substrate they are adhered to)?
How are the tiles adhered to the substrate?
What is the weight of the rail you are installing?
Will it be supported only by the backsplash or is it also going to rest on the counter?

Drywall is behind the tiles. The weight of the rail is minimal maybe 15  pounds tops. We are going to support it with anchors as recommended. We bought a mason drill bit from home depot and the tile is 3/8 inch think. It is taking forever to drill. it this normal and are we on track? Thanks, evala

A carbide tipped masonry bit on rotation only will drill through granite tiles, but you would measure the time in minutes (4?...5?"). A diamond bit would drill through in seconds - 20?...30?...?

Try this:

or this:

or if you can wet cut, try this:
